POPULATION DENISTY AND SEASONAL DISTRIBUTION OF RODENTS SPECIES AT EL-KAWAMEL FARM AND SHANDAWEEL FARM AT SOHAG GOVERNORATE, EGYPT

This work intended to show the range and allocation of rodents spe-cies in El-kawamel and Shandaweel farm at Sohag Governorate dur-ing December 2021 till November 2022. Results showed the exist-ence of one type in every farm, the white bellied rat, Rattus rattus frugivorous in Shandaweel farm and Rattus rattus alexandrinus in kawamel farm .On the other hand, the highest population of rodents species were recorded in summer (0.8) and spring (0.62) followed by autumn (0.58) and winter (0.48) respectively and the lowest popula-tion were recorded in January (0.2) and November (0.4) in Kawa-mel farm while in Shandaweel farm, the highest population of ro-dents were in summer (0.53) and spring (0.47) followed by autumn (0.43) and winter (0.32) while the lowest population were noticed in January (0.25) and February (0.3). Males density is more than fe-males, and mature status is higher than immature. In all months except in May and September mature equals to immature animals in females.
